Networking

We live in a connected world and every component of these connections are important to trouble free and secure communication.

Workstations, cabling, switches, routers and servers all play their role in connecting you the user with the resources you need. Some may be on your own server to access your MYOB data, medical databases, job system or Word/Excel data. Some may be on the Internet – the unlimited source of ever-growing services.

It is good to know that one company can take care of the lot. At Friendlyware our support does not end with the installation of workstations and servers – we don’t rest until your entire network is securely connected and you can access all the data you need. And – we are there to keep it this way.

Many of our customers have interstates and overseas subsidiaries. These also require secure access to data on their local network, backup and service. We use infrastructure provided by TPG, Telstra, Optus and Exetel to interlink these offices and allow users to access data as if they were at the head office.

And when those services go down – you can ring us to get them up and running again. We will do the mundane ringing around and troubleshooting until the problem is fixe. Leaving you to do what you do best: Work on growing your own business.

Server Support

Whether on-premises or in the cloud – servers are a centre of your information storage. Our range of servers include Hewlett Packard Proliant, IBM and Fujitsu hardware running every available operating system – Microsoft Servers 2003, 2008 and 2012, Small Business Servers, Linux and other operating systems. We maintain both hardware and software incl. patch management and security updates.

Monitoring

We can actively monitor all servers (and workstations) and attend to problems often even before they are affecting your business or – if you prefer – work on an ad-hock basis attending only if and when you need us. Monthly reports are available to show server utilisation and availability.

Live cycle management

Our monitoring software allows tracing of warranty information, installation data and end-of-life management for all your IT resource. We also check disk capacity and workload. We work with you should it be time to replace or upgrade your servers we in advance so you can budget for the inevitable…

Backup

Friendlyware employs proven solutions to maintain and backup your servers – including off-site backup for complete piece of mind. We even have stand by servers available in the event that any of our customers are encountering a complete outage of their servers – be it by hardware faults, theft or fire.

Disaster Recovery

For extra security we also offer Disaster Recovery testing. This involves us restoring your server at our data centre, providing you access to verify its operation and certifying the result should your auditor require it.

Virtualisation

We were one of the first IT support companies in Australia that introduced VMWare virtualisation software into small businesses. Many of our clients run two, three or more virtual servers on the same computer hardware using this technology. We have recently expanded our scope to also include the Microsoft Hypervisor technology to our client base where appropriate.

Workstation support

Today, we access our data in many ways using “workstations” that were not even thought of when the first PCs were developed. Traditional tower-computers, laptops and notebooks, tablets and phones, all are used to make you more productive when working with your data – provided they work.

Good to know that there is one company that supports all these form factors – all the different operating systems whether Windows, Linux or iOS and different technologies PC and Macs.

Remote support

More than 90% of our support is done right from our office – we connect to your workstation remotely and work with you to explain the problem and resolve it. Friendlyware pioneered the Bomgar remote support solution here in Australia well before it became mainstream. There are some complex cases – like some virus infections or connection problems where this is not possible – so we can come out to you or you can bring the “sick baby” in to the office for treatment.

Lifecycle management

Just like with server hardware we can monitor workstations in your network and provide replacement recommendations if required. Some operating systems are no longer save to operate and we help you successfully moving to a new platform that give the users a more secure and modern environment and is significantly more resistant to virus attacks.

cloud Services

 

Great improvements in connectivity in Australia have brought with them the ease of access to information everywhere. The world-wide-web was only the beginning of an information sharing revolution that is still very much developing today. We work with you about the benefits of moving your data, your application and your presents “to the cloud”. Many of our customers are already using private cloud technology that – combined with virtualisation – allows small companies to operate in more cost effective ways than previously possible. Cloud based backup solutions are part of our standard offering – even our smallest businesses customers with just 5-10 users take advantage of it on a daily basis.

Most of our users have cloud based virus and spam protection, and since its decision to host servers in Australia early 2015, the uptake of Office 365 has been astonishing. We partner with large providers that offer cost effective solutions for both Exchange and Office365.

It is our mission to accompany to on the way to the cloud whenever the conditions and requirements meet. We also realise that for some customers this may not be today or tomorrow and hybrid systems (on-site and cloud based solutions together) may still be the solution for many businesses for some time to come.
